Relentless Parenthesis

She uses her parentheses relentlessly
(like a tic or a click track trick)
though ostensibly
she was sent to me
(by a friend
who did not comprehend
in the end
what this trend
(digressionary spending
neverending
(sometimes nested
(quadruple-deep
(or even more,
paragraphical horror)
context creep)
uncontested,
unarrested))
so indiscreetly penned
would portend)
to edit, comprehensively
and expensively
(though she gets no tip I blithely quip)
my poems comprehensibly
(as in, without syntax meandering,
focal point philandering
or structure gerrymandering
(which make it an artless farce to parse
(there is no worse curse for verse))).
