Global Positioning System

My GPS has no idea
What my motivations are
Why I'm at the pizzeria
Closest to the local bar
Why I'm headed home from work
At this unreasonable hour
Juxtaposition with that young clerk
Whether I sing when I'm in the shower
It can see I'm at the polls
But not how I am going to vote
Those positions, thoughts and goals
Still grey beneath my hair and coat
It knows exactly where I am
But not so where I'm going
No insight into future plans
What hopeful seeds I might be sowing
My GPS, unwise of whys
Does not possess that kind of skill
But, as time and technology fly
I think that soon it will
