POTW #827
(Week of 27 January, 2013)

I was going to write about something different entirely, a meaningful piece on relationships, myopic expectations, and plants. But on the way there I encountered a sunbeam and was seized by the desire to stretch out in it. Recommended.

The Wisdom of Cats

A scrap of sun in a patch on the floor
A come-hither ballad too warm to ignore
A quick escape to a day in July
A hot bubble bath where you get to stay dry
Housecats endeavor to show us the way
Relaxing and soaking up heat the whole day
To lounge in a sunbeam is something sublime
Why don't we humans do this all the time?
