POTW #834
(Week of 31 March, 2013)

Stupid pun inspired fun. What else is new? Happy Easter.

The Ether Bunny

Jumping unfocused in spirals and slants
Alarming the neighbors and crushing their plants
Rolling his eyes in a vitriol haze
Cackling roughly at all he surveys

Swaying at sea on the stilts of his legs
Spilling a trail from his basket of eggs
Hallucinogenically colorful droppings
Captured by children who follow his hoppings

They greedily, graspingly grab up his spoor
Chasing a myth who is chocolate and pure
They track and pursue him afloat and aflutter
Until they locate him passed out in a gutter

Drooling and limp and not what they expected
Homeward they shuffle, deflated, dejected
Solace at least in the eggs that they've found
But to eat them might be just a trifle unsound
